Here is a good list of how to behave on internet (Also works on real life) Regardless if you are in a chat or in a game, this will work. I guarantee you!
- DO NOT use Gay, homo, or any other word connected to beeing homosexual as a bad word. Beeing gay is nothing bad, it might have been that 1940 since people didnt have proper education back then. But now we know better. Say "Fucking ass". Asses are nice too, but everyone has an ass (atleast almost) and that wont make anyone from a particular type of sexuality feel bad. Good right
- DO NOT use CUNT or GIRL or whatever word that is connected to the female gender as a bad word. Beeing a female is really not a bad thing - unless you are a part of the gamingcommunity where guys behaves like complete morons. So lets take a step away from that. IF YOU HAVE TO TALK ABOUT GENITALIAS talk about your own. Not others. Also dont use profilepictures with asses or boobs. It really doesnt help the scene be more friendly towards girls. And please talk to girls as you talk to guys. They are most probably not here to find you as their future partner, rather here to play a game and then go do something else.
- DO NOT use KID or whatever word that is connected to someone beeing younger as a bad word. I dont even know why this is necessary to say. How in the world is someone suppose to become a good gamer if they dont start while they are kids? If you are so much older then act like it and rather help this kid out then flaming him or her. If someone is older its not a bad sign that they havent stopped playing - they might just keep their interest as people normally tend to do with other hobbies.
- NOT EVERYONE IS A YOUNG WHITE MALE WHO LOVES GIRLS. The gamingscene consists of different people. Let everyone has their shot of beeing a part of it, a good start is not assuming things about other gamers gender, age, sex, religion or etnicity. Even sexuality. Its really not that hard. Just think "Everyone is different" before you start talking.
- DONT HATE ON OTHER GAMES. So you like LoL over DotA2. Or CoD over CS:GO. Thats completely fine. You might also need sometimes to tell people why you have this preference. But there is NO REASON WHAT SO EVER to hate on other games. The Esportscene doesnt need more hate. We need to grow together. Have you seen swimmers beeing all like "Runners are like fucking retards, their sport is so fucking dumb. I mean they ONLY USE THEIR LEGS bla bla bla" No you havent. All good. So stop.
- DONT HATE ON PROPLAYER OR TEAMS. So your team lost and you start calling your favorite player a noob and whatnot. Try to keep the support, or just leave the support. Not needed to create hate with calling out someone for beeing shitty player just since he or she had a bad game. Grow up abit. Hate is just bad. However beeing negative towards a result or a effort in a game is fine.
- IF SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING REALLY BAD THEY MOST PROBABLY KNOW THEY DID. Not needed to tell them. If you wanna give feedback to someone playing you actually are better off first asking them if they even want feedback. Because if they dont it doesnt matter what you say. It will only create a really bad atmosphere. And give it in a mature manner.
"FUCKING SHIT FLASH" isnt a mature manner.
Some examples where you can upgrade your language
someone is really brave - "Wow he goes into the fight like a man" could be "Wow hes really brave going into this fight"
someone is really sensitive -"Don't be such a gay" "Dont be such a girl" could be "Please dont be so sensitive" or even "Stop crying"
someone is really bad mannered -"fucking cunt" could be "fucking penis" or even "Please stop it" or even " "
someone has a really light voice - "Are you a girl or a kid" could be "Hi, wazzup mate"
someone is a girl - "Do you have a picture" could be "Are you holding A or B?" or even "Are you toplane?"
someone is a fnatic fan - "I really fucking hate fnatic" could be "I cheer for NiP"
someone is open homosexual - Probably wont happen yet since the scene is so fucking toxic that football has people daring to go out before us. Thats really a failure.
PLEASE upgrade your language online. This is many peoples workenviroment. Many peoples hobbyenviroment. Make it better. Together we can do it.
